Summer is here! I type that as I look outside at a cloudy 70 degree day but still we’re in July so it’s time for summer eats and treats. 🙂

Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls
Ever since starting a sourdough starter I’ve wanted to come up with a cinnamon roll recipe. I tried a couple times with tough and not so yummy results in the past so I just thought I wasn’t going to be able to figure them out…
…Sourdough Banana Bread
Hello everyone! Hope you all are staying healthy and safe. In all of this stay at home stuff I’ve been spending even more time in the kitchen. Making up all sorts of new recipes, especially the sourdough variety. Something that I’ve been trying my hand at is sourdough banana bread. It took a couple tries to get this one right but I finally have a recipe for sourdough banana bread that is absolutely delicious!
…Strawberry Jalapeno Jelly
Oh my goodness it has been way too long since I have posted on the blog! In one of my last posts I had mentioned going back to work at the office a couple days a week and turns out I’m just not cut out to be a working mom. It was just too much for me to handle the office, keeping up with the housework, spending time with family and friends, and posting on the blog. So the blog suffered. 🙁 But now I am back to being a full time stay at home mom where I find the most enjoyment and that means I have time to sit down and share recipes and such with you all!
…Teddy Bears in the Apple Orchard
We are in another cold spell in our neck of the woods and so we just had to have a nice warm dessert to enjoy! Today’s recipe is one of my husband’s childhood favorites and a go-to for cold weather desserts.
…Cheesy Killer Bread
If your house is anything like mine we’ve got a lot of football going on this time of year. And with football comes lots of what I like to call “football food.” That just means finger foods/appetizers. We often have people over to the house to watch games and it’s kinda fun to make a bunch of finger foods and enjoy the game together.
…Buttermilk Scones
Lately I’ve been craving (which means making) a lot of homemade breads. Right now my go-to recipes are my buttermilk biscuits, sourdough bread, sourdough english muffins, and these buttermilk scones. …
Buttermilk Brownies without refined sugar
I have a weakness. That weakness is eating desserts. Especially late at night. I know it’s an awful habit and if I really set my mind to it I would break it but I haven’t chosen to do that quite yet. 🙂
So, in the meantime, while I still indulge in sweet treats I came up with this yummy little brownie recipe. Buttermilk brownies were my favorite kind of brownies as kid. I was a bigger fan of the cake brownies than the fudge brownies back then and these just hit the spot. …
Homemade Chocolate Syrup
You probably all know by now that I don’t really like sugar. I mean I like the taste of it but I don’t like what it does for my health. I am always trying to figure out ways to replace refined sugars in our house. One item that I have kept buying in this journey is chocolate syrup. I don’t use it much but my husband often wants a glass of chocolate milk after work and Scarlett likes to join in. So I went looking through some of my old pins on Pinterest and found a recipe for a homemade chocolate syrup and it got me thinking of ways to make it without regular white sugar. …

With summer ending and the cooler months starting it could only mean one thing… Apple season! Okay, I guess it can mean a lot of things but apples are the first sign of Fall to me. Last week we cleaned up all the windfalls from under our big apple tree and we ended up with six 5 gallon buckets worth. We turned all of it into applesauce and apple butter and now we have a TON to enjoy throughout the next year. …
