Lately I’ve been craving (which means making) a lot of homemade breads. Right now my go-to recipes are my buttermilk biscuits, sourdough bread, sourdough english muffins, and these buttermilk scones. …

Homeschool 2018-2019 Week 12
We are back to school after our Thanksgiving break! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable time that it was hard to get back to the routine but I do like having a regular schedule. Once we got started it was all good :D…
Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup – Gluten Free
I absolutely love the fall season. I’m sitting here watching a bird in a tree outside and, for some reason, it’s just so peaceful to me. It’s not really bothersome to me to have to stay inside more and deal with it being dark by 5 o’clock. I’m definitely a homebody though so that could have something to do with it. :)…

This week was soooo much fun! Our theme last week was dinosaurs and needless to say it was a big hit in our house. The girls also got to spend some time at Nana and Papa’s last week on Thursday and Friday so we did all of the school work for the week by the time they left on Thursday morning. Really wasn’t that big of a deal since it just meant we missed one day of school and they both had so much fun. They came back in amazing moods and I got a ton of things checked off my to-do list. Win-win!…
Homemade Beef Stew
The cold weather is here and that means I can start making all the soups and stews that my family loves. I make beef stew at least once every year but I feel like I should definitely make it more often than I do. It is so yummy but even more important (well sometimes more important) it’s so easy to make! You have to do a little chopping but most of the cooking time is hands off and it’s all in one pot which means less work for after dinner. 🙂

I’m going to be honest, last week was a mess. It started out well with doing our school work but we had something come up and, in the end, we didn’t even do any of our schoolwork on Friday. I felt really guilty but you know, that’s the great thing about homeschooling, it’s so flexible! So we will catch up this week with anything we need to and then move on….
One Pot Creamy Rotini Pasta
We have been so busy lately. Who isn’t though, right? Since we’ve had such a crazy schedule lately I’ve been going to quick and easy dinners….

We are now just finishing our second cold of the season. Cold/flu season is definitely in full swing! Despite being sick Scarlett still did great with her schoolwork this week. The theme was bones and the body. Scarlett has been very fascinated with how our bodies work and what’s on the inside where she can’t see….

We started out our day with this devotional and a bible story from this children’s bible. Then we turned on some Beethoven to listen to while we do our school work. I also like to turn on our composer whenever I get a chance throughout the day just to add in some more music study. …
