Week 11 this week! Our theme was Cooking/Baking this past week. Scarlett always loves getting in the kitchen and helping make things so we enjoyed the theme a lot!
Just like last week we went out of town Thursday-Sunday so it left only a few days to do school work. The flexibility that comes with homeschooling is great! We had a great time visiting with family but I am looking forward to being home this whole week. 🙂
In nature study we did pages 132-133 in our workbook. Scarlett found the different things to look and listen for in our yard now that Spring has officially arrived. It has been amazing to get out in the yard and run around in the sunshine.
In geography we completed 65-69 in our workbook. Scarlett learned what the different bodies of water look like and what they are called.
For science we made this ice cream in a bag. Obviously this was a big hit! I did this activity on a day where I do daycare and all of kids were so excited to shake up the bag and make ice cream to eat.
For art Scarlett made a batch of cookies with her nana. I was at work so I didn’t get any pictures but we all got to enjoy some tasty cookies the rest of the week.
For reading we learned the new sight words Soon, Our, and Ate. We had a copy of The Doorbell Rang but I couldn’t find it anywhere so we just found a video on Youtube. Scarlett is familiar with the story though.
For handwriting Scarlett wrote out all of her sight words.
We did not get to any math this week. Scarlett had a math sticker book she worked on while we driving but we did not get to any of the math activities this week. 🙁
Thanks for stopping by the blog this week. See you next week for our last week of Winter term!
