I just can’t believe we are less than a month away from the term ending! Last week’s theme (Week 8!) was manners/emotions. It was a great week of learning for Scarlett and I. I feel like she is just starting to understand her emotions and I felt like we both benefited from this theme. She got to tell me how some things make her feel and I was able to teach her appropriate ways to express them to others.
This was our last week of Brahms in our music study. Next week we start studying Chopin!
For nature study we did pages 120-121. We read a poem about shadows and the workbook suggested writing your own poem or story.
For geography we did pages 50-54 in our workbook. Scarlett learned how to identify the different parts of an address and we went over how to write our own address.
For science we made slime for this exploring emotions activity. Scarlett loves the movie Inside Out so I thought this would be such a fun activity for her. She also loves slime so that just made it over the top fun! Of course Estelle had a great time too!
For art we made this garden of good manners craft. Such a cute idea! We also did this other activity practicing good manners.
For reading we learned the sight words Too, Pretty, and Saw. We read Madeline Says Merci. We didn’t read a Winnie the Pooh book just because it slipped my mind!
For handwriting Scarlett wrote out her sight words. She didn’t even need me (or Nana!) to write them out first she just looked at them in her index cards and wrote them all out on her own!
For math we did a couple pages in our math workbooks from The Dollar Tree and then we did this counting the shape sides activity. I didn’t get any pictures of the shape sides activity but it was only a sample page that we used since I didn’t realize you had to purchase a whole set to get the full activity!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Hope to see you again next week!
