Week 13 has come and gone! Christmas will be here before we know it and I’m definitely not ready. I’ve barely even started on Christmas presents… Eeek!
Anyhow, we had a great week of school last week. Lots of fun things to make.
For art we made this picture of the rainbow fish with glittery scales to go along with our rainbow fish book we read for reading.
For reading we learned the new sight words She, They, and On. We read The Rainbow Fish and the Tale of Timmy Tiptoes from our Beatrix Potter book.
For science we kind of had a fail. It was my fault, not the tutorial. In the tutorial it said you could find all of the supplies for the experiment at the dollar store. Then I ended up going to a small Dollar Tree and couldn’t find the alka seltzer I needed. I did find some emergen-c packets and I thought since they both get fizzy that maybe the emergen-c would work as a replacement and I was wrong… So instead of a snow storm in a jar it was more of a nasty swamp in a jar… This is our results before we added more emergen-c. Not my best idea 😀
We covered the numbers 3-5 in handwriting. Scarlett is really starting to enjoy handwriting more.
For math we did our normal math worksheet for the week. We used these hot cocoa counting mats for our math activity and then we played the don’t feed the raccoon game. That funny little raccoon was a lot of fun to make.
We finished out our history book last week and so we just left it at that for the term. Next term I will try to find something that will make it through the term.

I love it! Such a wonderful way to learn!
