We have been so busy lately. Who isn’t though, right? Since we’ve had such a crazy schedule lately I’ve been going to quick and easy dinners. I had this recipe for a beef stroganoff (it’s the one you gave me many years ago Marissa!) and I didn’t happen to have ground beef on hand at the time so I made a few changes and came up with this one pot pasta dish.
I absolutely love one pot/sheet pan meals. The last thing I want to be doing after a busy day is wash a ton of dishes. I would way rather be spending time relaxing with the fam.
You start off with browning ground turkey in a large pot. Add in the mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. When the turkey is cooked through add in your flour. Stir to evenly distribute and then stir for another minute.
Add the milk, water, chicken broth, worcestershire, and pasta. Stir is all together and bring it to a simmer. I don’t usually buy chicken stock I just use water mixed with better than bouillon chicken base. Costco is the best deal!
Once it’s nice and bubbly cover it and simmer for about 13-15 minutes or until the pasta is tender. Stir it occasionally so it doesn’t stick! When the pasta is cooked through, remove from the heat and stir in the sour cream and cheese. Taste to see if you need to add salt and then serve.

-
Turn heat to low and cover. Simmer for 13-15 minutes stirring occasionally.
-
When pasta is tender remove from heat. Stir in sour cream and parmesan cheese. Add more salt if needed and serve.
Recipe Notes
If pasta isn't cooked and the sauce is too thick you can either add more water or milk 1/4 c at a time until pasta finishes cooking. This usually only happens when I don't turn it down enough. I haven't had to add more than a half cup.
