We started out our day with this devotional and a bible story from this children’s bible. Then we turned on some Beethoven to listen to while we do our school work. I also like to turn on our composer whenever I get a chance throughout the day just to add in some more music study.
This week for nature study we looked at moss and mushrooms! It was kind of fun looking for mushrooms to study and moss was very easy to find. We have a bunch of tree logs in our yard from some trees being taken down and Scarlett loves to climb on them. She really enjoyed looking at the moss and then she liked taking it off the tree.
For our craft this week I printed off these community helpers puzzles. They are very simple to put together so it wasn’t very challenging but it gave Scarlett some scissor practice which we have been needing. Our printer was running out of ink so that is why some of them look a little less vibrant.
Handwriting this week we focused on the letters M-O. All of these letters are nice and easy so Scarlett didn’t lose interest like she normally does. Yes, that is Estelle climbing on top of the dining table… She just wanted to do school work too!
Math was a lot of fun this week. We did our math worksheet for week 6, count and clip cards, and smack the number counting game. The count and clip cards were so awesome!
Reading we learned the words Little, Down, and Can. We read The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy Winkle and A New Coat for Anna. Reading is, by far, Scarlett’s favorite. She likes listening to stories and asking questions and she is really good at summarizing the stories to me.

Science this week I had planned on making my own recycle sorting center but then I found this little recycle activity set at the Dollar Tree and I decided to do it instead. This was a huge hit! We love recycling so this was helpful for Scarlett in learning what goes where.

This week for geography we learned a little bit of history on the State of Oregon. We just read the history chapter in this book about Oregon. I know I have seen several other states in this series of books and I kind of assume they have all 50 available.
Another week down and still enjoying this homeschool journey. So much fun! See you all next week!
